Rochester Car Buyer connects people selling cars in the Rochester, NY area with a licensed local dealership that buys them. By using rochestercarbuyer.com, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
Who can use it
You must be 18 or older and either own the vehicle or have the legal right to sell it (or will once any loan is paid off).
How it works
We aren't the buyer. We pass your car's details to our dealership partner, a licensed New York dealership. The offer comes from them, and if you accept, the sale is between you and the dealership.
Your offer
- An offer is based on the info and photos you give us. It isn't final until the dealership sees the car in person and confirm its condition, mileage, title, and any loan payoff.
- If the car doesn't match what you told us, the dealership may change or withdraw the offer. We'll explain why before you decide.
- Each offer is good for the time stated in the offer.
- Neither of us has to go through with a sale until the paperwork is signed. You're never required to accept an offer, and there's no fee to get one.
Your info must be accurate
You agree that what you tell us about the car and about yourself is true to the best of your knowledge. Don't submit info about a car you don't have the right to sell.
Loans, title, and paperwork
To sell, you'll need a valid photo ID, the title (or your lender's info if there's a loan), and the keys. If you owe more on the loan than the offer, you pay the difference at the sale. When there's a loan, the dealership pays your lender directly.
Pickup and payment
Pickup is only offered for cars that start and drive, depending on location. If there's a pickup fee, you'll be told before you accept. The dealership confirms the payment amount, method, and timing when you accept, and you get paid at the sale.
Texts and calls
Giving us your number lets us and our dealership partner call you about your offer. You only get texts if you checked the texting box, and you can stop anytime by replying STOP. See our Privacy Policy.
Photos you send
You let us and our dealership partner use the photos you take on this site to evaluate and buy your car. Please don't include people or anything private in them.
Using the site
Don't misuse the site: no fake submissions, automated scraping, attempts to break in, or interfering with how it works. We may block anyone who does.
No guarantees
We work to keep the site accurate and working, but it's provided "as is." Vehicle details from lookups can be wrong, so please check them. To the extent the law allows, we aren't responsible for indirect losses from using the site. Nothing here limits rights you have under New York consumer protection law.
